Back in the hospital

Anna was admitted back to the hospital on Thursday. This time it was scheduled, as she was starting a new chemo regimen and the first step in this regimen is to have chemo delivered for 24 hour straight. That process wrapped up tonight, but now she'll have a couple more days of heavy duty meds, a Lumbar Puncture again on Monday, and the hopefully go home on Monday night or Tuesday. She's feeling pretty good so far, but she's got a lot of different things flowing through her system. They give her chemo to kill the cancer, but that weakens your entire system, so they give her steroids to make her strong, but that keeps her up all night, so then its pain meds/sleeping meds, and hopefully they find enough of a balance to keep her feeling good but not high as a kite.

With this being a scheduled visit, she was able to prepare and bring over all the stuff that she would want. I think that helps a lot with making her more comfortable here, but I think it also makes it much more nerve racking, as she's known that this was going to happen. Being away from TJ this time around is a lot tougher, as he's a lot more aware of what's happening. He kept asking where she was going and if he could come with her.

We've spent a lot of time in this hospital, and we'll definitely be spending Valentine's day here. Won't exactly be the most romantic night of our lives, but at least we'll still be together. Hopefully, she'll feel good enough that we can enjoy a nice home cooked meal. With all this time that we've spent over here, you really get to understand how this place works. I think we were a lot happier when we didn't know what "code blue" meant, or didn't realize that the people who wind up in a specific room don't ever make it home. It's one of the rooms at the end of the hall, and it is the end of the line. It's always difficult to see the family (or patient) in that room, as we know but I don't know if they always know.

So, for those of you who haven't been here in a while, the virtual donor drive has started! If you want to register to donate, read all the info, and then click the link to register. Also, we started a facebook page and we're up to 242 Fans in the first 48 hours. That's pretty cool, but I want to get into the thousands pretty quick, and then the hundreds of thousands! Thanks everyone who has joined so far and who has been helping to raise awareness. I received my test package in the mail tonight and will be going test process this weekend. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
