The week is almost over....
One more day until the weekend.
Anna had treatment on Monday and was off Tue, Wed, Thu. She has treatment again tomorrow (Fri), off for the weekend and then back again on Monday. She's been feeling a bit beat up this week. Pretty tired and achy most of the time and hasn't had too much of an appetite. She kind of expected this, as now that she knows all of the different chemo types, she has a better idea of which ones really beat her up. The one that gets her is Vincristine. Every time she gets that one, it really knocks her for a loop. Her and my mom (and TJ) were still able to get out and hit Costco or something like that, but it's definitely only out for a little bit and then back home to rest. A little bit of time taking a nap in bed, but mostly just time relaxing on the couch. Other than that, it's been a pretty good week. With my mom here, it means TJ and Anna are both here as well, which is always real nice. My mom heads home this weekend. Anna's niece, Bianca, comes up from Orlando this weekend and is here for about 9 days. This means that next week, TJ will be in the city most of the time but Anna and Bianca will be out here. She gets to see Dr. Grossman tomorrow (the primary Oncology doctor). The schedule shows that next week, she's supposed to start 12 days straight of "Cranial Irradiation", which is basically radiation to her head. The appointments are quick, but it sounds pretty intense to me. The last time she saw her doctor, he said they may skip this so we're both curious to see what's going to happen. Given the type of cancer Anna has and her relatively good prognosis, his original thinking was that this may not be necessary. We'll know more tomorrow... Since she's going in for treatment, I'm sure she'll be rocking the twitter updates as tomorrow beginning around 10:30am or so.
In unrelated news, as many of you know, I started a new job in late October. They put out a press release today announcing my start along with another new executive... check it out.

I just saw that Sara Horn,
I just saw that Sara Horn, founder of Wives of Faith, is giving away copies of her new ebook on Monday. The book is called the Busy Book and in it she shares different ways a military spouse can stay busy during a deployment pass4sure. Ideas are found in one of four areas: physical, mental, social and spiritual. She even out web links to help with the 99 ways 70-541,
All you have to do is add a comment to her blog, telling her one way you stay busy during a deployment. You do not have to currently be in a deployment to enter the contest or to win.
Congrats, and enjoy the concert!
Hey Tom,
Major congratulations on your new endeavor with KickApps -- very cool!
Hey Anna,
Shoot, I am going to have to check out Twitter now because it would be great to have real time updates just to know how you are doing. Concert? Hmm, are you going to see Mr. Anthony, pray tell? I hope you have an absolutely wonderful time. Not loving the whole idea of "cranial radiation" but heck, what do I know? LOL! Good luck with that. You know that I am thinking about you all the time. I'm sure you are mainlining the Ensure -- Yeah, it's nasty but it helps. My suggestion is chill almost freeze your fave flavor and make a milkshake.
Have a good, peaceful and happy weekend.
Ho ho ho!
