the week in review...

Anna is settling in very nicely to her new schedule. The current schedule includes a check up on Monday and then a spinal tap (chemo) on Wednesday. She continues to take chemo pills as well, but since she takes those at home and don't seem to beat her up as much as some of the other stuff, the schedule is better than it has been. With this schedule she's pretty beat up on Wednesday and Thursday, but gains some additional energy by the weekend. This weekend was too cold to go out and do anything, but she was more active in the house than she's been in quite a while. She'll have a couple more weeks of this same schedule, so it'll be nice to get in a bit of a routine (especially one where she feels pretty good).

My mom was down this past week, so that was nice as it means that TJ and Anna are both here. TJ's back in the city this week with Anna's parents, but Anna decided to stay here... she's feeling good enough to be alone for a couple of days and is planning on driving herself to the appointment on Monday. This will be the first time she's done that, so it'll be a bit of a milestone on the path to well being.

Our friend Kathleen (and Anna's chauffeur) was in a car accident this past week while driving alone. She's out drinking today, so must be doing OK overall... little nervous when the chauffeur wrecks the car, but glad to hear Kathleen is bouncing back.

Pittsburgh looked great! Looking forward to seeing them again next week. Too bad about the G-men.

Hey guys

Glad to hear all is well, and that you are settling into a good routine. Anna- what a milestone to drive yourself. Hopefully Kathleen is fine, thank G-d. We called your name out last night at the healing service. It was very spiritual, and went well. We love you guys.

for the record... ;)

Rainman: I'm an excellent driver. Excellent driver.

eh-hem -- Even though my beautiful blueberry of a car is smashed up, the accident did occur on an icy highway and poor weather, and while my car slid across 3 lanes of traffic, did a 360 and then overturned in a ditch on the side of I-80, I managed not to hit anyone else, and I called 911 hanging upside down from my seatbelt somewhere in Paterson, NJ.

I know Tom's joshing me a bit (I hope), but at least I crash well, didn't hurt anyone else and, of course, escaped death. And my beautiful Guinness(s) does act as an excellent pain killer while watching Sunday football at the pub.

AND...of course...I'm glad Anna is spinal tapping like a maniac! She handles it so well at the hospital while she forces me to watch "Sweet Sixteen" the most awful show EVER. The nurses and staff there love her, she's a freaking celebrity. And I love her too!!!!

Happy you're better

Anna and I were really good friends in Junior HS, in fact we were inseperable. We just got reconnected on facebook.. The reunion was bitter-sweet when she told me the news. You see, my father died of cancer and my mother is a breast cancer survivor. I know first hand what a family goes through.

After reading the blogs and seeing what Anna went through, I am in tears.. She is such a strong and beautiful woman. I am so happy that she's doing better.

Anna - I truly believe our reconnection is a blessing.. I am so happy to have you back in my life and we will continue to be in touch..

By the way - I'm so excited that you're going to see Marc Anthony on Valentine's Day.. We MUST have a Karaoke night.. just singing Marc Anthony of course, lol.

Te quiero mucho..xoxo
Eunice

glad to hear

Anna,

So glad to hear you are home and settling into a better routine, and ecstatic to hear about your recent test results. That's wonderful! I've been keeping busy with the girls since my last day of work, and fighting colds right there with them (stay at home mom's catch those things I guess). I hope we can chat one of these days soon when you are feeling up to it. I still don't have my computer fixed, but I have a new blackberry and my email is now lisalibro@gmail.com. Thinking about you often and praying it will get easier for you very soon! You're doing amazing! Love, Lisa

Hi There!

So glad to hear of your progress, Anna! Let's keep up the good work and good news! I check in on you guys regularly - sorry the return responses are few and far between. The T's and P's keep transmitting though! Congrats on the new job, Tom! Saw the press release last week. Did you name the company too? :) Can't believe we're 1/2 way thru January already... way too scary! Take care of yourselves and hugs to all.

Shannon
