Happy Humpday

Get your mind out of the gutter... Happy Wednesday.

Quiet day for the most part around here. Her pain and discomfort has been a little high the past couple of days. I think some of it is probably because she's trying to decrease the frequency of her pain meds and winds up waiting a little too long before requesting her meds. I think she's trying to be a little too strong at times, and would prefer if she just relax and focus on being comfortable.

My parents are still at the house... I've had a rough couple of days at work, so haven't had a chance to see them or TJ very much. My mom cooked tonight and then they ran the food over to the hospital. Definitely good to have a nice home cooked meal.

Tomorrow is another chemo day, so probably will be a tough one. Extra thoughts, prayers, comments, etc are appreciated and please hold off on the calls or anything like that.

Anna's godfather (down in Florida) had a procedure performed and they found one of his arteries is blocked. They're going to put in a pacemaker and keep him in the hospital for a few days for observation. Overall, he's doing ok. Would appreciate it if you can keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as we wish him a speedy recovery.

She wanted to thank Paul Morrison (former co-worker) for sending a card. Also, Anna's parent's co-op board sent a huge fruit basket over to her parent's apartment - so thank you!

Also, I received a couple emails/VMs from Ezel and RayRoof and some other folks. Thanks guys for checking in. Your support is appreciated it.

Big debate tomorrow night and lot's going on with the economy. Interesting times....

Dad’s Cure

Nena, my Dad’s cure for everything is una buena comida. LOL! He is very happy to hear that are eating well and sends his prayers.

My friend’s son is a cop in LA for a special unit and she always tells him, “Son don’t be a hero.” Now I’m telling you don’t be a hero and take the meds. ;)

My prayers and thoughts are with you always.

XOXO,
Judy

glad to hear you're progressing well

Hi Anna,

I just wanted to say that I've been reading the blog religiously and I am happy to see your progress is going well. You are a super trooper! When I was watching the last game at Yankee Stadium, and kept seeing Tino Martinez I couldn't help but think of you Anna. Also in less than 3 weeks, on October 19, 2008, I will be running the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in San Francisco. This Marathon and Half-Marathon completely benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). I will have a big ole picture of you Anna on my back, to kick my arse the whole way. I think it is going to be a picture from the time you and I drove out to Montauk when I had my little red convertible. Remember, we had a lot of food and lots of corn on the cob. I will take tons of pictures. If you want to take a look at my Team in Training (LLS) donation page it has a lot of my reasons why I'm running (http://www.Reddy2Run.com). I have to update it again still but it will be sure to highlight you. I never thought (or wanted) you to be a reason that I am running, but you are and I'm going run my butt off! Two weeks after that 1/2 Marathon I will run the NYC Marathon on Nov 2. My 4th Marathon within a year (can you believe it). I will have your name on my back there too.

I think it is great that Tom has been keeping this blog for everyone. It is so great you are comfortable with being able to share your story right now. It's a tough thing to do; but shows both of your bravery and courage in this battle you're in. I know you're a Tino fan, but to me you're Paul O'Neill -- the Warrior!

If anyone does want to make a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, they can do it through my page I mentioned above as well and it is in your honor.

I'm sorry I haven't been as good as posting here as I'd like, but I think and pray for your every single day. I also was thinking of knitting or crocheting you some hats if you'd like. Tell me color, etc. and they are yours. I promise I'll do my best to make you a fashionista while in chemo.

I love you both and I look forward to seeing you when you can have more visitors.

Love,
Kathleen

thinking of you

Hi Anna,
as you know the whole idea of pain management is to have a relatively steady stream of pain meds so that you don't have such vicious swings of pain -- when in doubt, take the meds. LOL! this is your body and at least with this facet of things you get to decide, but I will say, you don't deserve any additional pain so do your best. we love you like crazy -- and I will start up the powerful prayer circle for tomorrow's chemo installment. We are with you in spirit.
I will also add your godfather to our prayers for a speedy recovery.
Major, major cyber hugs to you!
Take care,
Stephanie
