nice day today
We had a very nice day today. Everyone (Anna's parents, TJ, Anna and me) spent the day out at our house. TJ was his normal self and kept everyone entertained. I did a bunch of running around in the morning (flu shot, hair cut, dry cleaning, dropped shoes off at the shoe repair/polish guy, stopped by the bank, etc). Anna's parents, TJ and I did a little furniture shopping today and he was crazy in some of the stores. As I was trying to talk with the sales people, I could hear him bouncing off the walls from the other side of the store. He wanted to try out a bunch of the couches and then things got fun when he wanted to play with the expensive lamps. Anna spent a lot of time out of bed. Her time was split a between bed, the kitchen table, the couch and a few other places. She actually helped her mom a little bit with folding laundry and helping in the kitchen. It wasn't too much, but I think it felt good for her to be a little active. I could tell by this evening though that she was tired and ready to get some rest.
This is a little bit of the calm before the storm... she's had a few days now without any chemo. But, chemo starts again on Monday. She actually will need to do outpatient stuff Monday thru Thursday this coming week, so we're prepping a bit for this logistically, emotionally and physically. While we are felling great about the cancer being in remission and being out of the hospital, we have to remain grounded and realize there is still a long road ahead. The upcoming week shouldn't be anything like that first week of chemo, but at the same point it is no walk in the park.
Thanks everyone for all of the comments and for continuing to check in. Your love, support, thoughts and prayers really are appreciated.

Chores, Errands, regular stuff
So glad that Anna had an opportunity to fold laundry - one of the mundane tasks that can be exciting because you were home to be able to do that!!! Tom - it sounds like you had plenty to do too!. G-d bless your fantastic, supportive families, without whom this whole process would be a really difficult ordeal.
Anna - good luck tomorrow.
love,
Ira and Chris
Just checking in
Hola to all! Anna banana, have not been able to read blog every day (the hospital is ten times as diligent as FGIC ever was at blocking, reading and policing e-mails and internet activity) but called Joani who told me YOU WERE HOME!! Praise be!! Congratulations - but do not overdo it - just enjoy every minute home with your family - but take care of yourself.
Hate to admit it, but it is very disconcerting to me that you look FABULOUS both with and without hair (not jealous - just....well...yeah, kinda....cause you know that I have bad hair MOMENTS not just bad hair DAYS - my hair can look exponentially worse in a minute than it was a minute before!!) (And your friend is right - you have a perfect head - did we expect less??!!) (If I knew my head looked like yours, I would shave my hair in solidarity - but you know that it won't so I can't!!)
Paola sends her love and daily prayers - she is overwhelmed with pregnancy and Gianna and being tired, etc. so apologizes for not being able to get to the blog. (P.S. They only had boys names but it is another girl - suggestions??)
I had reached out to Lisa Lesko to see how she was doing and gave her your blog address - she said if you or Tom need any help navigating insurance and doctors. etc. she can guide you after all her years of chemo, etc. I will text you her phone and e-mail or send it thru regular e-mail.
Let me end with a big hug, a big thank you to the nurses and your family, and to the ultimate friend and saviour, Our Lord Jesus Christ. In his name, I remain your faithful friend who loves you with all her heart.
Text me when you are ready to chat. Good luck during the week with the new chemo schedule and house logistics, etc. (Sorry this is so long but have not posted in a while and wanted to make sure I told you about Paola and Lisa). Ciao for now, xxxoooxxx
happy weekend!
Hi Anna,
It is great to hear that you are up and about and able to do everyday things -- that's a good feeling I'm sure. Take good care and rest up. I will keep the prayers coming and I hope your week goes exactly as you wish it.
Tom,
The whole TJ in the furniture store story is so funny and so typical little kid. I loved it. Glad you are able to care of what you need too.
I will continue to send good thoughts and prayers to you all.
Best,
stephanie
