administration and chemo delayed

A few administrative items first... I've received a couple people reaching out about the same things:

1. If you created an account, but didn't get the email then please check your spam filter/folder. If you still don't get it, then email me and I'll create the account for you.

As a side note, we have 87 signed up users and a bunch of others that just read but haven't created an account. We have heard from people from NY, NJ, Florida, DC, Texas, Toronto, Cuba, Latin America, Milan, London, Australia and probably a whole bunch of other places that I cant remember right now. pretty impressive.

2. the way the blog works is that on the homepage, it only shows the first 800 characters or so. To see the full post, click on the title or the Read More button - PAY ATTENTION MOM AND STOP COMPLAINING THAT YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE TJ'S PICTURES :)

OK, now back to our regularly scheduled programming and stuff that is really important.

They delayed chemo for another day. Most everything is back to normal at this point, but there was something related to belirubin that still wasn't completely where they wanted it to be. So, to be on the safe side, they delayed chemo for another day. Physically, she feels very good. she's been up and moving around quite a bit these past few days. She's been making a few walks down to the pantry and over to the nurses station. Additionally, her appetite has been really good which is something that we'll have to continue to watch. I think the steady diet of garbanzos and picadillo from her mom certain help... way better than the cold sandwiches and soggy waffles from the hospital.

The doctors and nurses are very impressed with how well she is doing given all that she has been through thus far. Apparently, the nurses fight over who gets to take care of Anna... she's a pretty good patient and mostly self sufficient, though she hasn't learned how to change her IV or draw her own blood just yet. I suspect by the end of this month, we'll both be capable of doing triage in the local ER.

TJ is on day 2 over at Anna's parents. It sounds like he's on vacation over there as he gets away with murder. Tino goes to Judy's house tomorrow. That's the lady that used to walk Tino back when we both worked.... she lives on a couple acres and has about 8 dogs of her own and always seems to be dog-sitting for someone else, so Tino has a fantastic time when he goes up there. Guess he's going on vacation as well. It's been too tough to look after him these past few weeks with different people (or no people) being in and out of the house. I'll be rockin the bachelor pad, though I don't seem to be there except for a couple hours of sleep a night.

She wanted me to thank everyone again for checking the blog and posting comments. I sit with her every night and read the comments. They always seem to cheer both of us up.

Anna - You have to be best patient!

I can just see it now - the nurses fighting over who will get to take care of you. After all, you ARE the best, and no other patient can compare. How lucky the nurses are to have you to care for. Keep reminding them that they can only have you for a short while - because you are going to have a complete recovery! So many people praying for you. We love you.
Ira and Chris.

Hey

Glad to know that Anna's eating. That's one of my main concerns. I know it's hard, but she needs to eat to continue with her fight. I'm not surprised that she's moving around, though. She has too much spunk to be laying around forever.

Wow, that list of users and countries is damned impressive! Keep 'em coming, guys!

Thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Mario

waving hello from my office!

Hi Anna,
You are a woman of the world -- adding to the prayer circle are friends from Texas, Kenya, Hong Kong, and Thailand -- you are truly international! Now if we can find someone on the space shuttle then you'll really be rocking. I'm glad to hear that you are up and about, movement is key and good for you. Just don't over do it!! Rest whenever and however you can because that is important too.
Sending you love and hugs,
Stephanie

P.S. My mom said she is ready to cook for you too!! Happy Tuesday to you both.

Brian on Janet's account again

Hey Guys,

Just catching up...good to read that things are going better. Now when you get the next chemo, Anna, smack it around a little bit and let it know who's boss!...fire with fire, Baby!

In other news, you're not missing much...I just witnessed our beloved yankees get their keisters handed to them on Saturday. It was not pretty to say the least. We were so distraught that it actually caused us to drink beers in a bodega in the bronx. I bought the crew some quarter per bag chips and some vienna sausages. I have 15 seconds of video on my cell phone if ya don't believe me.

Take care...you KNOW we're thinking of you guys constantly.

Love,
Brian

PS - I didn't realize that you and Marc Anthony share the same b-day month. He turned 40 this weekend......party at the Bowery Hotel. :0)
