short and sweet
Anna cut her hair today... real short. Not Sinead O'Connor short, but closer to Halle Berry circa 2003 (mmmmm.... Halle Berry). Her hair was a bit difficult to control in the hospital, plus since she's likely to lose most of it anyways, it didnt really make sense to try to deal with it.
TJ stopped by again and they had a fun visit. They shared some chicken nuggets and had a few laughs. She had a few other visitors as well, which is always nice. She's received quite a few flower deliveries over the past couple of days, so the place is starting to look like a garden. Thanks everyone.
Chemo starts tomorrow. Let's all say a quiet prayer (or whatever you do) and hope for the best.
Busy day for me with work, so I was only at the hospital for about 2 hours. Plus, TJ spent the night with me last night and around 3:30am decided it was time for more che-che (which is 2 year old speak for leche, which is spanish for milk), so that cut into my few hours of sleep and I'm exhausted.

It was so great to see you! I haven't seen you in so long, and seeing TJ was just a treat. He is so handsome and growing so fast. I was thinking about you all day today. I hope today went well. I hope you are feeling strong today. Everybody asks about you. I have been passing along Tom's emails about how to contact you. We all love you and are always with you. Anna, Please know that my love, thoughts and prayers are with you and Tom and TJ and your family as you face this unexpected journey. Strength of faith and love of family are just as potent "medicines" as the chemotherapy you are embarking on today. As you face the difficulties ahead keep your faith and love close, they will always be there to provide you comfort when you need it most. I truly believe that.
As you begin your chemotherapy, I know it would be incredibly poor form to mention that your beloved Yankees are in the tank and that the Mets are the New York team playing meaningful September games and getting coverage on the back pages of the newspapers. But being the kind, generous and thoughtful soul that I am, I won't mention anything about that at all. However I can say who ever expected that the team of the AL East would be the Tampa Bay Rays--not even the hated and dreaded Boston Red Sox. UGH!!!! Now if that is not a shocker, I don't know what is.
Thanks, Tom for setting this forum up. It's a great way to keep in touch. Being a woman of my generation it only took me 2X to set up my account and I only had to redo my comment a second time because somehow I lost the first (and I must say much spiffier) version. I send you good thoughts and will talk to you soon.

Checked up on you guys (via your blog) earlier but I'm just getting a chance to write now. I'm sure Anna looks beautiful in her new haircut. :-) Can't wait to check it out. I'm happy to hear TJ had a good visit but I am so sorry to hear that Tom had a rough night. I hope you can get some rest. My mom wanted to send you love and prayers with the Chemo starting today. We had a great visit with you on Sunday and wanted to thank you for keeping us company rather than the other way around. We are both in awe of your spirit and praise it everywhere we go. You are definitely an inspiration to all of us.
By the way, I have a dear friend that went through the battle with Cancer and with prayers and treatment she has pulled through and she always volunteers her shoulder or ear if you ever need anyone to talk to or get advice from just let me know and I can put you two in touch. She has the same happy and assured spirit you do and I think it would be a great help for you if needed.
