chemo - day 1

TJ stopped by again and was able to spend some quality time with Mom. I wasnt here, but it sounds like they had a good visit. After the visit, TJ went to the zoo with grandma and pop-pop (2 year old speak for grandpa). I saw a few pictures and it looks like the pig was the big winner of the day.

Chemo and the other meds started today around 2:30pm. They really kick your ass. She's been exhausted and running a temperature all afternoon/evening, so its been the toughest day thus far. More chemo tomorrow, but not as much - so we're hoping for a better day. Spirits are still high and she still remains positive, but the physical part today was pretty rough.

tough day kids..... tough day.....

thinking of you!

Hi Anna! I was going to call you yesterday, but I read on your blog that you were starting chemo. I figured it would not be a good day to call. I'm so sorry that you have to go through all of this. My thoughts are with you during your recovery. Also, I cannot believe that TJ is already 2! It seems like just yesterday we were planning your surprise baby shower when we lured you in the conference room with free leftover food. Those were great times, and I definitely miss hanging out with you! You’ve always had an amazing positive attitude and I know you will get through this tough time. XOXO – Jess from FGIC

Hey Tom & Anna

I was sad upon hearing the news but I am confident that you will make a speedy recovery. Anna, you're a strong person
with a great support group in Tom, your family and your friends. No doubt in my mind that you'll beat this. You are in my prayers, so keep your
chin up. Now how about a spastic Modi style high five???.........."ANNE!"

Remember...

Hey, guys. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this day must've been for the two of you. But remember how many people you have thinking about you and praying for you. Try to grab a hold of all that strength that's being sent your way. I know how strong both of you already are.

Always thinking of you,

Mario

Hi Titi Annie and Tom

I thought I'd leave a comment because I know she isn't feeling well and can't talk much. And this way I know tom...you'll read it to her.

I hope she has a better day tommorow with the next set of chemo and it won't be as bad. I love her tons tons tons!!! We are all praying very much for her and know she will get better soon. The one good thing about the chemo is we know she is one step closer to getting better.

Say hi to everyone for me and give TJ a big kiss from can-can. Love ya and miss ya!

Chemo kills the cancer, and saves your life

Hello Anna,
Our very good friend Lorraine has been through multiple episodes of different cancers. You remind us so much of her with regard to your amazingly positive outlook. Lorraine has said that the chemo has to almost kill you so that you can recover and move forward. Thank G-d, she is doing great after her various treatments. I am confident that your faith, and attitude will contribute towards your complete recovery. It is just fighting the battle that stinks, but winning it is everything. We hope you are up to a visit soon. All our love,
Ira and Chris

Heard about your day from Ira...

Anna and Tom-
Ira let us know that you began your chemo today which I know was tough for you. The "good news" is that you are now officially beginning the healing process and the continued prayers and well wishes continue to be sent your way. I once participated in a similar blog for a little boy who had been seriously ill (he is 100% well now) and while I never knew him (his aunt used to work at Syncsort Tom...Gail Cerf in UNIX Sales), it was such a good thing for the family and for everyone that sent the messages. Just want you both to know that we'll keep you in our daily thoughts and we'll keep praying that you continue to have the strength to get through this as soon as possible. Reading Tom's comments and the messages has been inspirational...Anna, it is so apparent that you are loved by so many friends and family and that there are lots of people praying for you! Good luck with your treatments and sincere wishes for a quick recovery.
