bump in the road

The night got tougher after my last update. Some of the tests were showing that her liver functions were not behaving properly. In addition, her fever jumped up to about 104.9(F) and her heart rate hit about 159. After consultation with the primary Oncology Doctor, the on duty Physicians, etc they decided to move her to the ICU primarily for precautionary monitoring. She was moved around 2am and I was kicked out around 4am. By the time I left, her temperature was down a bit and her heart rate was a little lower.

Visiting hours don't start again until 11am, so I just got back to the hospital a little while ago. Fever and heart rate are still high, though better than the peak. They are able to treat the heart rate with some medicine to allow it to settle down a bit, but after a while it does peak back up. She's supposed to see a cardiologist in the next couple of hours just to get his/her opinion.

It looks like we're going to be here for a couple of days, so:
1. All visits for tonight/tomorrow are canceled (they only allow immediate family)
2. Her phone number has changed, so please hold off on calling (they do not allow inbound calls here)
3. chemo scheduled for today/tomorrow is canceled, until we get to a better spot with the liver, heart and temp

Physically she feels ok - just a little more tired than normal. She remains in good spirits and I've been able to some normal conversations with her.

I'll update again later today as more info is available.

Obviously this does little to

Obviously this does little to derail his 2010 season 70-649, where he presumably hopes to come up big for his new team in the Ardennes, after a strong 14th in La Fleche Wallonne (he's all of 23), among other goals 70-680. Still, it must have sucked to call the Boss and tell him you're going to be late for training because of a domestic accident 83-640. Lance has a dark sense of humor though; am guessing he had a laugh. Better luck in 2010 Ben.

Thank you, and healing prayers continue

Hi Tom
Thank you so much for sharing all that is happening with Anna -- and giving us information. Please know that though we are not there with you and Anna physically that we are there in every other way possible. I've just called my mother, aunts, and other family members and friends to ask for their continued prayers. With best wishes, strength, and healing for Anna.
Love,
Stephanie

Hey Tom
Tracey from GBIX. I was surprised to hear Anna was sick. I've been keeping you two in my prayers. Thanks for sharing your daily routines. I'll continue to pray. You keep the faith and give Anna a hug for me. I'm an eight year surviver of cervical cancer. The road is rough but God is so good!!!!!
