Lock down and some other stuff

After a quick haircut, trip to Costco and then Babies-R-Us, I spent the rest of the day over at the hospital. Sticking with the normal pattern, the weekend is pretty quiet over at the hospital from a treatment perspective. She really did well after yesterday's round of chemo. All the numbers looked pretty good, so we are continuing forward and feeling good about things. She felt great today and she had a big appetite. Her mom cooked up a feast and that always helps with the appetite.

Her white blood cell count is low, so they started treating the white blood cell count with something earlier this week. This in itself is not something to be overly concerned about; however, it does mean she is very susceptible to infection and her body's ability to fight an infection is weakened by the chemo treatments. So, unfortunately, this means they have her in a bit of a "lock down" whereby visitation is significantly limited (immediate healthy family members only, no children under the age of 12, no restaurant food, she has to wear a mask when she goes out of her room, etc). It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but certainly best to follow all precautions at this stage of things. I'll let everyone know if this does change, as I know quite a few people had wanted to visit.

I can't stress enough how positive and upbeat she has been this past week. I think a couple days successfully handling the chemo treatments, in addition to her connection with God, and the wonderful support we've been receiving from everyone is really helping.

As mentioned yesterday, TJ is back home which is fantastic! He's starting to get better with saying please (though its closer to peeez) and thank you. He's also picked up a few other words like otra (spanish for another, like when he wants a different book), play (when he wants you to play the DVD), and ven (spanish for come, like come with me to the toy chest as he drags you by the hand). A week in the Heights and his Spanish is getting better. My mom and dad will definitely need a translator when they are back in town.

I cleaned up a couple things on the website. I created a useful information section on the left and put a few links about cancer and the hospital. I removed the welcome message now that most people have already created accounts. Also, I realized that since some people don't check in every day, i created a link for "from the beginning" so you can read the story for the beginning rather than have to go backwards.

As you probably all know, tomorrow is the final home game at Yankee Stadium. Sad day in the boogie down. I'm definitely not looking forward to the ESPN coverage and having to listen to Joe Morgan.

If someone actually uses

If someone actually uses simpletest\d+ for the prefix for their website, but then all drupal will do of course is switch to that site exams preparation. If it doesn't exists Drupal will crash and burn during early bootstrap db phase.

Seems like a good idea to have backup in place...

The main issue seems to come from the logging being place in public directory TT0-201 exam...could possibly be moved to temp...but then so should al the simpletest stuff VCP-310 exam...which just doesn't sound right. Do remember of course that the db layer will crash so the only thing printed to the log will be a db error.

Re: Hello

Hi guys,

Glad to hear that Annie is responding well to the treatment and that her spirits are high:-) I am sending positive vibes so those white cells increase. Annie maybe you just need to continue eating some of your mom's home cooking meals...You know how latin people are they have a food remedy for everything:-)

How cute to hear that TJ is speaking some spanish...It seems like he has learned the essential words "otra" & "ven" to get what he wants...Very clever boy!!!

Tom don't worry the new Yankee Stadium promises to be bigger & better...perhaps this is what they need to win the series ...a makeover!!!

Besitos,

Carmen, Eddie & Christian

Hi Anna, I'm back...

Hey Anna,
Since I didn't have access to email on Friday and Saturday I got updates on how you were doing from Susan and co. It is good to hear that the adjustments to the chemo treatments are going ok. Hmm, a mask? -- how very chic. :) I might have to get you some sexy gloves too!
I am thinking of you constantly and a candle gets lit for you every week at church. Keep strong, stay positive, you know you are loved the world over.
Hugs baby!
Stephanie

Footprints (anonymous)

One more thing-
I don't know if you are already familiar with this anonymous set of lyrics, sentiment, however, I wanted to share it.
I am going to be singing this on Yom Kippur in our healing service. You know that I will be calling out your name at the appropriate time! When you are ready, I would be honored to sing it for you.
(note: I learned in Hebrew school, never to spell G-d's name, that is why there is a hyphen, it is disrespectful to get too familiar.)

Last night I had a dream that I’ve come to understand,
I was walking with G-d along the shore in the sand,
And above me in the sky were scenes flashing from my past,
And behind me in the sand two sets of footprints still would last.

One of G-d, one of mine.

When the last scene of my life left its mark upon the sky,
I looked back at all the footprints and I had to wonder why,
For I saw that there were times as I traveled through my life,
When it seemed I walked alone in my times of pain and strife.

And so I questioned the Lord, Did I misunderstand?
If I would follow you, you’d walk with me, hold my hand?

And a still small voice echoed through the air,
Saying I am here with you, I did not leave you, I do care.

My precious precious child when the footprints are not two,
It was then that I was closest; it was then that I carried you.

love, love, love..... Ira

The Mask...

Hey Anna, you probably look sexy in that mask. Grrrrr!! You look great no matter what. As far as the pain in the butt, Tom - rub it!
So glad this last round has gone well. Now get those White cells up GIRL!!!
Always thinking about you guys. So appreciative that you are sharing your most personal travels with all of us.
Tom - OMG, it sounds like you need a tissue to wipe those Yankee Stadium tears! Are you gonna be okay? Need a hug? ;)
Are the beers in the hospital fridge yet? hehe
Always,
Ira and Chris
