friday night

quick update... Anna had her appointment today. She's definitely been a bit extra achy/tired today (and for the last few days). The doctor agreed that she didn't need to proceed with the "Cranial Radiation" portion of treatment given her good prognosis, remission status, etc.... so that's good news. To me, it's definitely one of those things that will be nice to avoid (it just sounds kinda scary). The chemo schedule is going to start to slow down in another week or so, which will be nice. I'll try to post on Sunday night with more details on the upcoming schedule.

I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bit this weekend. Hope everyone is checking the Anna's twitter feed (over there on the right) on chemo days. We got a bunch of posts today.

What's going on this weekend? I think I'm sleeping in.

The week is almost over....

One more day until the weekend.

Anna had treatment on Monday and was off Tue, Wed, Thu. She has treatment again tomorrow (Fri), off for the weekend and then back again on Monday. She's been feeling a bit beat up this week. Pretty tired and achy most of the time and hasn't had too much of an appetite. She kind of expected this, as now that she knows all of the different chemo types, she has a better idea of which ones really beat her up. The one that gets her is Vincristine. Every time she gets that one, it really knocks her for a loop. Her and my mom (and TJ) were still able to get out and hit Costco or something like that, but it's definitely only out for a little bit and then back home to rest. A little bit of time taking a nap in bed, but mostly just time relaxing on the couch. Other than that, it's been a pretty good week. With my mom here, it means TJ and Anna are both here as well, which is always real nice. My mom heads home this weekend. Anna's niece, Bianca, comes up from Orlando this weekend and is here for about 9 days. This means that next week, TJ will be in the city most of the time but Anna and Bianca will be out here. She gets to see Dr. Grossman tomorrow (the primary Oncology doctor). The schedule shows that next week, she's supposed to start 12 days straight of "Cranial Irradiation", which is basically radiation to her head. The appointments are quick, but it sounds pretty intense to me. The last time she saw her doctor, he said they may skip this so we're both curious to see what's going to happen. Given the type of cancer Anna has and her relatively good prognosis, his original thinking was that this may not be necessary. We'll know more tomorrow... Since she's going in for treatment, I'm sure she'll be rocking the twitter updates as tomorrow beginning around 10:30am or so.

In unrelated news, as many of you know, I started a new job in late October. They put out a press release today announcing my start along with another new executive... check it out.

3 in a row

wow, haven't posted 3 days in a row since the days of being over in the 5300 unit.

She had chemo on Monday and is now off again until Friday. During these stretches where she goes a few days, she really winds up with some decent energy. My mom and Anna (and TJ) did a little shopping today and worked on some X-mas cards and some other stuff around the house. Nothing too crazy, but definitely was pretty active all day. I think the house is officially decorated for X-mas... now she just needs to finish shopping, sending cards, etc.

Her hair is really starting to grow back in. You can actually see it from a few feet away and it no longer feels like stubble.

Nothing else major to report... just a few more steps in the right direction.
